The Wednesday Club Collective takes its name from the Wednesday Club of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a women's civic organization founded in 1902. The Wednesday Club raised the funds that built the first Cape Girardeau Public Library, among their many lasting contributions.
They saw what their community needed, they organized, and they built solutions themselves with the resources they had at hand.
I hope to carry on their legacy of innovation, resourcefulness, and care for their community in my work.
I founded the Wednesday Club Collective to bring useful research and practical strategies to libraries doing hard civic work.
I’ve spent nine years on a library board as President, Vice President, and as a board member, and I currently serve as President of the Cape Girardeau Public Library Friends Foundation. As Chair of the “Vote Yes for Prop L” campaign, I led a public funding initiative that passed with more than 70% voter approval in April 2025.
I’ve also held professional roles in the economic development, tech, and non-profit spheres, and I know what it takes to move a board, a staff, and a community from skeptical to supportive.
If you have a funding campaign, ballot initiative, community engagement challenge on the horizon, or other library-related business, let’s connect.
